Reading to Learn Learning for Life

What We Do

The Reading for All!Initiative promotes community literacy and supportsgirl alone.jpg productive lives by identifying and aligning resources in the Northern Willamette Valley Region. As part of a continuum of efforts supporting regional children, youth and families, Reading for All!mobilizes and engages communities in Marion, Polk and Yamhill Counties to support literacy, and to encourage reading as a means of facilitating academic and lifelong success.

RFA seeks to:

  • Increase the community’s awareness of the importance of reading.

  • Encourage parents to read to their children.

  • Align community resources to strengthen opportunities for children to receive books and have adults read to them.

These efforts include individuals, families, organizations, faith communities, businesses, and agencies. Project components include early literacy, family commitment to reading, and school/family/community partnering. The approach complements the efforts of local schools and assists the entire community in taking responsibility for student success.

How Can My Organization Receive Books?

Reading for All! is conducting an ongoing survey to determine what you and your community, organization or program need from us to support your efforts.

The information collected from this survey will give us a clearer picture of how we should direct our resources and staff as Reading for All! grows. We want to support you where there is a need.

Your input is very important to us as we partner to make reading a priority!   Please visit the appropriate county link below:
