Reading to Learn Learning for Life

Community Book Nooks

Polk County Reading for All has recently launched a new project called Community Book Nooks.  We are inviting local businesses and organizations that serve our families to partner with Reading for All to support daily reading and family literacy. The purpose of this project is to reach out to children and families with books and involve the community in our efforts.

If your business or organization has a lobby or waiting area and space that provides, we would love for you to consider having a Book Nook! The project includes a small, child sized bookcase, books for all ages, and literacy materials at no cost.  The books must be provided to kids and families for free!  We hope to provide free books to families, and encourage children, parents, grandparents and friends to read together no matter where they are.

If you are interested in learning more about the Community Book Nook project, please contact Polk County Reading for All community coordinator Michelle Bornfleth at bornfleth.michelle@co.polk.or.us or 503-623-9664.
