August 19, 2011 Southeast Salem Community Center Summer Camp The Southeast Salem Community Center, a ministry of the Capitol Every day during the summer camp, under the supervision of coach Dave,everyone of the 57 kids enrolled had to read for half an hour. Books were were always available.
Family Barbecue and Summer Reading Celebration
Park Church in Salem, offered a free after-school care and summer camps to kids K-8.
At the end of the summer, kids' reading hours were totaled and a grand prize raffle was held during the August 19, 2011 Family Barbecue and Summer Reading Celebration (1 ticket per half hour of reading).
All the children received a book from Reading for All and other prizes donated by members of the Community Center. For more information about the summer program, contact coach Dave at 503-362-6626.
