Reading to Learn Learning for Life

Stop, Drop and Read!

It is once again time to join others in your community in celebrating the love of reading!

In all, over 8,700 people participated in the first "Stop, Drop and Read" event organized by Reading for All! in 2012. Schools, businesses and other community members throughout Yamhill, Marion and Polk Counties joined together on May 29, 2012 at 1:30p.m. in a 15 minute community wide reading event!

This year we are teaming up with the Oregon State Library to encourage participation throughout Oregon!

"Stop, Drop and Read" has been organized as a way to bring awareness to the importance of strong reading skills.  The public is encouraged to stop what they were doing, drop everything and read for up to 15 minutes.  The event is supported by public libraries, local police and fire departments and helps us all celebrate the love of reading!

"Stop, Drop and Read" will be an annual event held on the last Tuesday of May.
