I Love My Library

The Stayton Public Library wants to know why you love your library?
During February, please come in to see our extensive bookmark display and choose your free button. Write down your reason for loving the library and enter for a chance to win gift cards to the Stayton Friends of the Library Book Store. Wear your button and help spread the word about your library.

There are many in our community who has not ventured into the library. To them we say, why not now!

Did you know that any resident in Marion, Polk, and Yamhill counties could get a library card at no charge? Did you know that we have Cultural Passes for local attractions? These are passes that check out for three days and provide free admission to places like A.C. Gilbert Discovery Village, Willamette Heritage Center, Portland Japanese Gardens, Portland Children’s Museum, Stayton Family Memorial Pool, and Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum. Did you know your library card gets you access to 18 libraries? That’s 1.4 million items including books, DVDs, audio books, music CDs, and much more. With your library card, you also have access to Library2Go, the library’s online center for downloading eBooks, audio books, and videos to your home computer or portable device.

Don’t live in Marion, Polk, or Yamhill counties? For a fee, you can get a library card! Children can get a library card for just $12 a year. Don’t want to pay? We have a paperback exchange. Bring in a couple of your good-condition paperbacks and choose from a variety of ours. We have a great supply of magazines that you’re welcome to take home in our magazine exchange area. Need information? The library has several online databases available that you don’t need a library card to access, like Ancestry.com and Chilton.com. Every month the library has free events for every age group (no library card needed) including five weekly children’s event, eight monthly tween/teen events, and a monthly adult computer class.

So, come into the library to see the bookmarks, pick-up your button, and discover all that we have to offer. The library is located at 515 N. 1st Ave, Stayton, Oregon 97383.
