 Oregon States University "Si Se Puede" Recruitment Day at McKay High School
Oregon State University(OSU) would like to invite students and their families from the Salem area to “Si Se Puede” on April 8th, 2013 from 5:30pm to 8:00pm at McKay High School.
“Si Se Puede” is an outreach event held by OSU to provide information in Spanish about higher education to Latino/a high school students and their families. The purpose of the program is to help Latino/a students and families plan and prepare for college by exposing them to aspect of higher education including the admissions process, housing selection, financial aid availability, academic programs, the culture in college and tips on transitioning into a higher education environment.
The program consists of a resource fair featuring displays/booths of college programs, campus services and student organizations; a presentation focusing on aspects to higher education with our Vice Provost for Student Affairs Dr. Larry Roper providing the welcome; and a student panel, as well as parent testimonials. Food, prizes and free childcare will be provided as described in the attached poster.
