What We Do girl alone.jpg

Reading for All is an initiative that promotes literacy in the Northern Willamette Valley region. Reading for All mobilizes and engages the communities in Marion, Polk, and Yamhill counties in efforts that reinforce literacy and is part of the continuum of efforts to support children, youth, and families. The intent is to encourage reading and serves as a method of facilitating academic and lifelong success.

Reading for All seeks to:

  • Increase the community’s awareness of the importance of reading

  • Encourage parents to read to their children

  • Align community resources to strengthen the opportunity for more children to receive books and have adults read to them

Efforts are designed to include individuals, families, organizations, faith communities, businesses, and agencies. Project components include early literacy, family commitment to reading, and school/family/community partnering. The approach is intended to complement the efforts of local schools and assist the entire community in taking responsibility for student success.

How Can My Organization Receive Books?
Reading for All would like to know what your organization's or school's needs are.  We are conducting an on-going survey to determine what you, your community, organization or program need from us to support your efforts.

All information collected from this survey will give us a clearer picture of how we should direct our resources and staff as Reading for All grows. We want to support you where there is a need.

Your input is very important to us as we partner together to make reading a priority!   Please visit the appropriate county link below:
