Polk County Literacy Volunteer Program

LVP provides literacy consultation and education to adults (18+ years and not in high school) who are unable to attend the college’s Adult Basic Education (ABE) and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes due to low literacy levels. Through small group and individualized sessions, volunteers tutor adult learners in reading, writing, and English conversation, focusing on life and work skills needed to achieve self-sufficiency.
